Restaurant Review: Taste of India – Layton, Utah

taste of indiaFood: At lunchtime, Taste of India has a great deal for $9.99. You choose 2 of the 6 options – I had the madras lentils and also veggies in creamy tomato based sauce – that come in small bowls. Paired with basmati rice, 2 large naan, vegetable pakora appetizer, green salad and dessert donut – all on one huge platter. So much food couldn’t finish it all! Haven’t been there for dinner yet, but the lunch was flavorful, plentiful and reasonably priced.

Environment: The booths allow for private conversation and comfortable for 4 adults. There are some long tables as well that worked well for large gatherings. Wait staff was friendly and attentive, checking in with us appropriately.

Overall, a great spot for vegetable and meat lovers alike!

Restaurant Review: Bombay House – Utah

Haven’t been to Bombay House since embracing the vegan way of eating. Very pleased to find that they have vegan dishes on the menu. In fact, found out that 70% of their dishes are vegan… they just add meat when a patron requests.

We really enjoyed the garlic and plain naan, the Vegetable Coconut Kurma and the Aloo Gobi.

Note: The next morning, woke up with a headache which tells me that they use MSG. Now that I know that, if I go back again, I’ll ask that they not add MSG.

Restaurant Review: Ruchi Indian – Folsom

ruchiEver want to know where there is good food? Ask a local.

I’m in Sacramento area and consulting with a technology company. Not be cliché, but I asked one of the engineers for a recommendation for good Indian food in the area. I’m glad that she didn’t get mad at me for singling out her ethnicity. Actually, I know that she was pleased I asked.

I picked up an order to go and headed back to my hotel room for a FEAST!

  • Chicken tikka masala
  • Vegetable Samosas
  • Naan
  • Basmati Rice
  • Mint curry sauce

Fantastic meal!

If you find yourself in Folsom – which is northeast of Sacramento – go to Ruchi Indian. You’ll be glad you did!
