Restaurant Review: Tosh’s Ramen – SLC

tosh ramenRestaurant Review: Tosh’s Ramen in SLC ⭐⭐⭐

Dishes:
Vegetarian Ramen with vegan yam noodles (3/5 ⭐)
Vegetables included baby bok choy, two different mushrooms, bean sprouts and green onions – the best was the marinated shiitake mushroom. Vegetable broth was pretty robust for vegetable broth. The yam noodles were the weird chewy kind and not enough. Definitely not enough food to be a complete meal on its own.

Vegetarian Gyoza (3/5 ⭐)
More of a pot sticker, the gyozas were filled with diced cabbage and onions. Pan fried too much for my liking and making it difficult to bite in half. The dipping sauce was a tart garlic soy sauce very strong flavor.

Local bakery bread

image

Local bakeries produce some of the most interesting breads. The quality is higher than store bought and the flavor is usually more robust because the ingredients are fresher. This usually leads to eating less per serving because it is more satisfying!

I picked up this loaf of rye with roasted garlic from Volker’s Bakery Salt Lake City while shopping at the Winter Farmer’s Market in Salt Lake.

Great accompaniment to a minestrone soup, salad, or use for avocado toast!

Restaurant Review: SLC Winter Farmers Market – Utah

watermelon-radishReason to love Utah No. 5: Winter Farmer’s Market. Every other Saturday at the Rio Grande by Gateway Mall 10am-2pm. Amazing selection of veggies, fruit, baked goods, cheese, pasta, chocolate, flowers and more!

Restaurant Review: Piper Down – Utah

piper down

Friday night + Irish food + friends = great time. Great meat lover options, but what else would you expect from an Irish Pub?! For veggies option, order burger with garden burger pattie and salad as side instead of french fries for healthy option. Servers do great job on busy Friday Night. Not the best place for vegan options, but at least they have some ways to customize dishes. Piper Down is known for their fish and chips, but the Reuben potato skins were the best! Great spot for date night and group parties, if you like loud bar scene.

Restaurant Review: David’s Kitchen – Utah

davids-kitchen-slcLunch at the famous David’s Kitchen in Salt Lake City.

When I lived in CA and traveled back to UT, I always made sure to stop in for their amazing Hot & Sour Soup. Excellent Chinese makes a difference… crisp veggies, tasty sauces, great service (like customized pot sticker sauce made to order at your table). Lots of options for vegan and meat eaters. Suitable for business meetings, date nights, family functions.

Restaurant Review: Thai Basil – Utah

thai-basil-slcDinner out with new investor friends. Fresh, crisp veggies, flavorful sauces, decent portion sizes. Great variety of veggie, vegan and meat dishes. We enjoyed pineapple curry, pad siew, egg rolls, potstickers, basil tofu stir fry. Quick, nice service. Great spot for business meal, family outings and date nights.

Restaurant Review: Oasis Cafe – Utah

oasiscafeDinner at Oasis Cafe in SLC. Wonderful vegan, vegetarian and meat eater options. Always great service. Udon tempeh with peanut sauce… Grilled salmon… Mediterranean Salad. Great way to follow-up an event.

Restaurant Review: Bambara – Utah

bambaraLooking for a great high-end meal in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah?

Bambara is your place for sure! Small plates are piled high and main dishes will knock your socks off. Gnocchi is to-die-for-good. For the #vegan: Get gnocchi and beet salad without creme. FAB!
